Simpson's Diversity Index is a measure of diversity. Two important factors of Simpson's index are Richness and Evenness. Richness meaning the number of species per sample, and Evenness meaning the relative abundance of different species making up the richness of an area. As seen in the picture, Simpson's Diversity Index's number for the tundra region is 0.87 out of 1.00 maximum. Therefore meaning the tundra has a lot of diversity.
