The tundra region depends remarkably on the water cycle. Up in Colorado's tundra, the soil is very dry and rocky; thus, it depends on precipitation and snow melts to replenish the soil and alpine lakes. Therefor, if there were to be a drought the plants would die, which would cause the herbivores to die, and ergo the predators that eat the herbivores would die. Hence the water cycle is very important to the energy in the Colorado tundra eco system.
